Access to Policy Makers

The GAC’s Government Affairs Series brings together business leaders, elected officials, policy experts and other thought leaders to discuss key policy issues and opportunities. The topics covered in these roundtable-style events address relevant policy issues facing the business community, and take place locally, in Columbus, and D.C., where we often engage with members of our congressional delegation, state legislature, local governments and key staffers from within a variety of agencies.

We also have an annual Candidates Conference & Leadership Reception which provides an opportunity for elected officials, candidates, business executives, and community stakeholders to connect and network, both professionally and socially. In addition, the reception is typically preceded by a Candidates Conference for specific races of interest during the current election cycle. The GAC welcomes all members of Greater Akron’s business community to participate in these events and encourages you to share any questions with John Rizzo at jrizzo@greaterakronchamber.org.

The Candidates Conference and Leadership Reception enables attendees to connect with key stakeholders and elected officials. Throughout the year, we also take members to Columbus to interact with elected officials and advocate for key business legislation in Ohio’s capitol.
