Daisha Okolo

Coordinator, Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance

Daisha Okolo is the Coordinator for the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance, a partnership between the Greater Akron Chamber and the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. In this role, she helps strengthen communication across both chambers, connects members with key information, and supports advocacy efforts around shared regional priorities. She chose this position because she believes in the power of community, collaboration and the impact it can have on businesses throughout the region. 

Professionally, Daisha is motivated by the people and communities that have supported her journey. With nearly a decade of experience in local government, she brings a strong understanding of governmental processes and procedures. She applies a strategic approach to legislative research, identifying emerging issues that impact local businesses and clearly communicating policy priorities to keep members and stakeholders informed and engaged. In addition, Daisha serves as the Advocacy Chair for the Akron Urban League Young Professionals. 

Daisha earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with a concentration in Africana Studies from the University of Mount Union and a Masters of Applied Politics from the University of Akron. Outside of work, Daisha enjoys life with her husband and their three children. She enjoys a variety of hobbies such as golfing, reading, painting, and gaming—everything from video games to board and card games. Hosting competitive and fun game nights for friends and family is one of her favorite ways to unwind and connect.
