Akron, Canton Working Together Helps Both

Individually, the Greater Akron and Greater Canton regions are wonderful places to live and work. We’re home to great companies, hardworking, smart people and a diverse economy that has industrial roots and 21st century possibilities.

In recent months, we have been talking about how much better the stories of both communities could be if we took more opportunities to tell them together.

With more than 1.2 million people in our combined Metropolitan Statistical Areas, we share a number of related and connected assets, like the Akron-Canton Airport, the I-77 Corridor, plastics and petrochemical opportunities, a national park and trail system and several unique visitor attractions. We also share unique institutions that serve the region seamlessly, like the Pro Football Hall of Fame, NEOMED, Stark State College’s Akron, Canton and Jackson Township locations, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron and North Canton.
