DRB Systems, LLC Acquires Washify Services, LLC

3/24/2021
Akron, OH March 24, 2021 – DRB® Systems, LLC, a leading provider of software and hardware innovations to the car wash industry, announced today that it has acquired Washify®, an advanced car wash point-of-sale system.

“Today, more than ever, we have assembled the best minds in the car wash industry,” said DRB CEO and President Dan Pittman. “We have not only joined two of the best car wash technology lineups, but we have also joined two of the most talented teams.”

DRB and Washify represent two of the fastest growing brands in the car wash space. By joining forces, they can offer car wash operators the widest set of technology solutions to profitably grow their businesses.

“Our industry is rapidly transforming. Recent consolidations warranted a change,” said Washify President Adam Korngold. “We wanted to be aligned with a best-in-class partner that supports our growth. I wanted to work with an organization that had the best interest of our employees at heart and that would allow us to remain in the industry doing what we love. DRB is that partner.”

Both companies will maintain their own brand entities and industry niches, leveraging synergies where possible to achieve the common goal of helping car wash operators sweat their assets. Korngold will continue to serve as President of Washify while Pittman continues to lead DRB as CEO.

DRB acquired Washify from Adam Korngold and private equity firm Ambina Partners, with the help of llegal services provided by Benesch and insurance brokerage and risk management consulting provided by Marsh, a business of Marsh McLennan. Legal services were provided to Washify by King & Spalding.

Bounce’s New Generator Nods to Akron’s Past While Looking to Build the Future

5/22/2019

The Bounce Innovation Hub’s first floor Generator space is open for business in Akron. What had been long-empty warehouse space dating back to the days of a once thriving tire-making complex is now repurposed with an eye to the entrepreneurial future. And it retains a strong Akron-y feel by showcasing the work of nearly 80 local artists and makers who created and put together 160 original works including furniture and decorations, made with locally sourced materials including some from the former tire factory. Bounce on Wednesday took the wraps off its now-finished $3.5 million renovation project and attracted hundreds of people to a daylong open house and grand celebration that stretched into the evening inside the former B.F. Goodrich building.

Jay Gershen and Elizabeth Bartz: Gov. DeWine Understands Our Transportation Needs

3/28/2019

Ohio must pass a transportation budget that addresses our transportation infrastructure funding issues, now, rather than providing a temporary fix that does not live up to the current needs of the state. Currently, there is earnest support from within the business community for increasing the state’s investment in roads and bridges and for increased levels of public transportation funding. Key leaders from within the Greater Akron region’s business community firmly believe that to properly address the tangible needs of Ohio’s infrastructure and ensure Ohioans can travel reliably and affordably, the administration of Gov. Mike DeWine must fight for the investment in roads and bridges that is consistent with its original proposal of increasing the motor fuel tax by 18 cents and support the House’s proposed increased level of support for public transportation.
