Camp Next: Empower Young People

Camp Next is an event by Electric Impulse Communications meant to empower our young people. Our young people are going to have more opportunities to be visible and change the world than any other generation has ever had. These young people are our future. They need to be prepared to speak when the spotlight of life is on them.

When: Sunday August 15th from 12:30pm – 4:00pm
Location: Electric Impulse Office
Cost: $69 for first person, $59 for each additional person
Early Bird: $25 Off if you reserve your seat by June 7th

Engaging experienced speakers will address:
  • Answer “why you”: why should we select you or listen to you?
    How to “Network” tips
  • Quickly prepare comments so you don’t miss the moment
  • Tips for financial literacy starting early
  • Reduce anxiety that can get in the way of your message
  • Reduce or eliminate saying to yourself “I should have said…” Table etiquette so you can focus on your message not which fork to use How to be heard in small or large group scenarios
  • Dress to keep the focus on your message
  • Learn from those just ahead of you in school or the workplace
The speakers may change due to scheduling but are currently as follows:
  • Rachel Day - Self esteem and confidence
  • Marc Servidio - Financial literacy 
  • Paul Cincotta - Restaurant and table etiquette
  • Shon Christy - Social Media
  • Traci Buckner - Networking 
  • Panel of young professionals

Business Analytics Innovation Summit on Sep. 27

Battered Women's Shelter and The Rape Crisis Center presents "No Harm Awards" on Jul. 25

The Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties will host the presentation of its first NO HARM Awards, as well a building dedication at the agency, located at 974 E. Market St. Agency officials stated the award was established to recognize community partners who have made a difference in how victims and survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives one day at a time. Akron Area YMCA Presents "P.S. I Love You 5K" on Sep. 14

These races benef the Kohl Family YMCA and our Middlebury neighbors.  The 5K and 1M event begins and ends at the Kohl Family YMCA/Summa Health campus in East Akron and travels through the Middlebury neighborhood, where they will meet and experience the people and businesses committed to the revitalization of this historic community . Participants will have the opportunity to “leave a lasting impression” at the end of their journey by contributing to a public art piece by Mac Love. For more Info: www.akronymca.org/psiloveyou
