NSBA Regional Listening Session for Business Owners

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Greater Akron Chamber Conference Center
388 South Main Street Suite 205
Akron, OH 44311

The Greater Akron Chamber has partnered with the National Small Business Association to host an NSBA Regional Listening Session for business owners and key decision-makers, where your organization will have the opportunity to join the national conversation on policy and regulation. This event will balance issues important to local business owners that are currently being debated in legislatures and agencies at the federal, state and local level.

The NSBA will lead a structured discussion among participants to elicit feedback on current economic conditions of small business and the potential for improvements to public policy. They use an online polling service (PollEverywhere) that allows participants to provide responses in real-time from their laptop, tablet or smartphone with no other special equipment needed. Participants can see the poll results as they come in and change, adding a fun and engaging dynamic. They can then ask follow-up questions and seek clarification regarding the poll results.

Topics that will be discussed are tax issues, workforce trends, cyber security, net neutrality and minimum wage. This event presents a tremendous opportunity for local organizations to participate in, and get exposure to, national advocacy efforts. Even more, this is an opportunity for us to tell a leading, national small-business advocacy group what really matters to small businesses in Akron. We’re a long way from D.C., but this listening session will ensure that our priorities aren’t.
