Greater Akron Chamber’s KNOW Empowering Women Luncheon to Feature a Panel Discussion on “Business Management: Doing It a Woman’s Way” on February 21

Greater Akron—Join KNOW on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, for the next Empowering Women Luncheon to hear a panel discussion on “Business Management: Doing It a Woman’s Way.”  The panel will be moderated by Kristie Warner, Owner & Salon Manager, Gavin Scott Salon and Spa.  Panelists include: 
  • Julie Brandle, President and Founder, Metis Construction Services
  • Theresa Carter, President, OMNOVA Solutions Foundation
  • Tia Ramlow, President, Great Work! Employment Services
  • Katie Sutter, Co-owner, Excelsior Marking
Kristie Warner attended The University of Akron where she majored in Interpersonal Communications with emphasis in Organizational Development.  For ten years, she worked as a grant writer for various non-profits in Akron, Ohio, and Washington DC.  She currently owns Gavin Scott Salon and Spa in Stow, Ohio.  Kristie is a dedicated community volunteer and fundraiser serving several organizations.

Metis Construction Services is a female-owned commercial general contractor located in Kent, Ohio, focusing on interior renovations, ground-up construction and facilities maintenance throughout Northeast Ohio.  With nearly 20 years’ experience in sales, marketing and public relations, Julie Brandle oversees these areas of expertise for Metis and is an integral part of the ownership team that designs and manages the overall business strategy for Metis.
As President of OMNOVA Solutions Foundation, Theresa Carter provides leadership and strategic direction in managing the operation of OMNOVA Solution’s $27 million Foundation.  She is accountable for community relations through charitable giving in each of OMNOVA's company site locations worldwide.  She serves on four non-profit community boards and several advisory councils and committees. 
Tia Ramlow is President and majority owner of Great Work! Employment Services.  She has been steadfast in growing and evolving the family-owned business to keep it current, vibrant and relevant despite two recessions. Great Work! specializes in recruiting employees for manufacturing and distribution centers in Northeast Ohio. 
As co-owner of Excelsior Marking, Katie Sutter concentrates on operations, marketing and strategic planning.  The 100+ year-old manufacturer solves businesses identification needs in three main areas — precision machining, pre-press graphics and visual communications.  She is passionate about developing a dynamic organization that “gives back” to the community it serves. 
KNOW is a networking and professional development program established by the Greater Akron Chamber.  KNOW’s mission is to cultivate the talent within each other by reaching out to today’s women executives and tomorrow’s leaders.  Registration and networking begin at 11:00 a.m., and the program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hilton Akron/Fairlawn, 3180 W.
